// SEASON 0 PREVIEW
COMPETITION RULES
This page covers how PAK competition works at a high level. It is a preview, not the full rulebook — see the closing note below for what's still to come.
FORMATS
PAK runs four format engines. Titles are announced day-of, per publisher authorization — these are the structures a title runs inside, not the titles themselves.
Four Swiss rounds followed by a Top 8 bracket. Every player is guaranteed at least four games, win or lose.
Best-of-three through the bracket, moving to best-of-five for the Top 8. Nobody is out after a single loss.
Teams of players compete as a unit through the bracket.
A fixed 90-minute window to post the highest score as a team.
RANK PROGRESSION
Every player starts at OMEGA. From there, rank moves only by winning:
- STEP 1OMEGAEveryone starts here.
- STEP 2DELTAWin a Drop → become DELTA.
- STEP 3BRAVOWin a Seasonal Championship → become BRAVO.
- STEP 4ALPHAWin the Annual → become ALPHA.
Rank cannot be bought and cannot be bought around. Points are tracked to measure activity — how much you've played, how involved you've been in a Season — but points never promote rank on their own. Only winning does.
PRIZES
- DROP
- $250
- SEASONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
- $500
- ANNUAL
- $1,000
Prize amounts are fixed and announced in advance, funded before the bracket starts. This is a contest of skill with a set payout, never a pot built from entry fees.
CONDUCT
Every player is expected to respect the venue, the staff, and their opponent. Grounds for disqualification exist and are enforced. Disputes during an event are handled on-site by the Event Director.
The complete Season 0 rulebook — seeding, tie-breakers, match settings, check-in deadlines, disputes and appeals — is published before Drop 001.
